Therapy Specialties

Dr Christine Henry specializes in supporting adults who have recently discovered or are contemplating whether they are ADHD or autistic, or who self-identify as "highly sensitive." She can assist clients in navigating challenges related to childhood trauma, grief, and religious trauma with online options available anywhere in Austin, Texas, or any state that participates in PSYPACT.

Austin’s thriving tech scene and creative culture can be exciting but also demanding. Whether you’re dealing with workplace stress, navigating life transitions, or managing the unique challenges of neurodivergence, our online therapy services help you find balance and clarity.

Autism as an Adult: Embrace Your True Self

Discovering your neurodivergence as an adult is a powerful step toward self-awareness and growth. It’s an opportunity to reframe past experiences, challenge ingrained self-criticism, and heal from old wounds. Together, we’ll explore ways to reshape your environment to suit your needs, moving beyond the pressure to conform to neurotypical norms.

Through this journey, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the hurdles you’ve overcome and develop practical strategies to create a more fulfilling life. Therapy offers tools to express your emotions more freely, enhance your relationships, and let go of the exhausting effort of masking. By embracing your authentic self, you can build genuine connections and live with confidence.

Adult ADHD Therapy : Harness Your Strengths

Living with ADHD can feel like a whirlwind, but understanding it is a gateway to self-empowerment. Therapy isn’t about "fixing" who you are; it’s about discovering ways to work with your unique brain. Together, we’ll uncover the strengths that come with ADHD, explore its challenges, and create tailored strategies to simplify daily life.

From refining how you organize tasks to experimenting with routines that suit your energy, small changes can bring lasting improvements. Along the way, we’ll address feelings of self-doubt, release the weight of unrealistic expectations, and celebrate your progress. With the right support, you can stop striving for perfection and instead embrace your potential with pride.

Dr. Henry works with adults age 26+ with the following concerns:

  • Struggles with Friendships: Difficulty forming deep connections despite efforts to fit in, often rehearsing and overanalyzing conversations.

  • Difficulty Trusting Others: Trusting people feels unsafe due to past experiences, leading to emotional reliance on animals for comfort and support.

  • Neglect of Personal Needs: Losing touch with your identity after years of prioritizing others' needs over your own.

  • Fear of Rejection: Feeling emotional pain when others seem upset, assuming their anger or disappointment is directed at you, and overanalyzing interactions to find the cause.

  • Deeply Aware of Others' Feelings: You notice others' emotions and behaviors quickly and change how you act to keep things calm and avoid conflict. This leads you to repress your feelings, burnout, and having inauthentic relationships with others.

  • Feeling Lost: Struggling with identity and purpose, unsure of who you are or what you want in life.

  • Difficulty Setting Boundaries: Struggling to say no, prioritizing others’ feelings at personal cost.

  • Social Fatigue: Enjoying socializing but requiring substantial alone time to recharge after interactions.

  • Organization and Productivity Issues: Trouble maintaining systems, avoiding phone calls, and being mislabeled as "lazy" despite significant effort.

  • Restlessness: Constant need for activity, guilt about resting, and difficulty following through on ideas due getting distracted

How Does Online Therapy in Austin TX Work?

Whether you’re in Cedar Park, Pflugerville, East Austin, or enjoying the outdoors at Zilker Park, our online therapy brings professional support to wherever you feel most at ease. We meet each other face to face, but through a HIPAA compliant video software, and will talk like you normally would in an office. Select a place where you will have privacy from other people, where you will feel safe talking.

  • If possible, use a computer instead of your phone. Using a larger screen will help it feel more like in person therapy by being better able to see the therapist.

  • Prop up your device or phone so it is eye level. This will help the therapist be able to read your facial expressions. Holding the device often becomes a distraction for both you and the therapist.

  • Do not multi-task during the session so you can be fully emotionally present to do the work.

  • Be stationary and do not drive during your virtual therapy session. Even if you often drive and talk with someone on your way to work this will not work for online therapy.

Go to a comfy spot, grab a blanket, get your pet, and let’s get started!
