The Benefits of Paying Privately for Therapy

Confidential Therapy Without Insurance Oversight

Protecting your privacy is a core part of how I practice. Using insurance means a diagnosis becomes part of your permanent health record, which could later affect things like life insurance or job eligibility. With health data increasingly being accessed and shared—often without clear consent—private pay allows you to keep your therapy completely confidential. Recent government reports have acknowledged efforts to collect data from electronic medical records, including mental health information. Without your explicit permission, your private details could end up in databases used for research, policy, or surveillance. Paying privately helps ensure that what you share in therapy stays between us.

Therapy That Fits Real Life—Not Insurance Rules

Healing isn't a one-size-fits-all journey. Insurance often requires a formal diagnosis and sets limits on the number of sessions, which may not align with your personal needs. Challenges like trauma, burnout, grief, or discovering you're neurodivergent later in life don't always meet insurance criteria—but they are valid reasons to seek support. Choosing private pay allows us to work at a pace that's right for you, focusing on what truly matters without external constraints.

Dedicated Support Tailored to You

Therapists who work with insurance often have to see a large number of clients just to keep up, which can lead to burnout and less focus during sessions. I keep my caseload intentionally small so I can show up with fresh energy, give you the attention you deserve, and offer support that’s actually tailored to you and what you need that day.

Together, we can decide your therapy needs—not an insurance company.

Fees and Services

Initial Consultation (20 min): Free

Meet with me online to determine if she is a good fit for what you want to work on in therapy. I will address any questions or concerns you may have during that time.

Initial Session (50 Min): 250.00

In our first session, the focus will be on understanding what brings you to therapy and the changes you're hoping to see in your life. This conversation will help us explore your experiences and consider how we might work together to support your personal growth.

Individual Therapy Session (50 Min): 225.00

You lead the way in our sessions, but I’ll be right there with you—offering feedback, insight, and support. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits in silence asking “How does that make you feel?” You can expect real dialogue, mutual curiosity, and space to explore what actually matters to you.

Group Therapy Sessions (50 Min): 75.00

Group therapy virtually brings together 6–8 people who are facing similar challenges. You will have the chance to share, connect with others who truly get it, and learn new ways to cope—all in a supportive, therapist-guided environment.

You are always helping others, now it’s time to take care of you!

Invest In Yourself

Ready to Get Started?

I offer a free 20-minute video consultation to help us see if we’re a good fit. Hate making phone calls? Me too. You won’t need to call—just send the form. I’ll respond by email within 1–2 business days with a few options for times to meet virtually.

During the consult, you can share a little about what you’re looking for, and I’ll tell you more about how I work. If it feels like a good match, we’ll schedule your first session (usually within a week or two). If not, I’m happy to point you toward other therapists who might be a better fit.
