Individual Therapy for Adults, Late‑Identified Neurodivergence, Trauma & Grief
You’ve been down this road before.
It’s time to come back to therapy.
You don’t have to do it alone.
I specialize in individual therapy for adults navigating complex trauma, grief, late‑identified neurodivergence (ADHD/Autism). I’m the Therapist for Pet People as someone who understands the comfort our furry companions bring to healing.
You’ve been reading books, listening to podcasts, experimenting with systems but everything still feels harder than it should. Your brain rattles on, the past pulls you back, and overthinking becomes utterly exhausting.
You’re the one who always shows up for everyone else. Now it’s time for someone to show up for you. Schedule your free consultation to see how I can help.
How I Show Up in Therapy - Grounded, Responsive, Human
Therapy with me isn’t silent nodding or generic advice. I show up as a real person genuinely curious, compassionate, and fully present. I’ll listen deeply, ask questions that help you see things differently, and say things in a way that helps it click for you.
You won’t be left wondering what I’m thinking. I’m direct, but it always comes from a place of care. You’ll feel the warmth behind it even when I’m naming something hard.
I’m here for the deep stuff but that doesn’t mean therapy has to feel heavy all the time. There’s room for crying, cussing, and laughing because sometimes healing takes all three. We’ll do the traditional therapy work, sure but also your cat’s weird habits or that clip you watched hit way too close to home in the best/worst way.
Some days you might come in with something specific to process, and we’ll sit with it together. Other days, you might need a gentle nudge or something practical to hold onto.
I can follow your tangents, your half-formed thoughts, or the moments when it’s hard to find the right words.
I love a good info dump. If it helps, I’ll offer articles or podcast episodes but there’s zero expectation you’ll get to them. They’re there if and when you need them.
What to Expect in Individual Therapy
We’ll explore the impact of past trauma without getting stuck there so you can feel more present, more connected, and more at ease in your daily life.
We’ll explore nervous system regulation, attachment wounds, sensory needs, and the stories you tell yourself about who you are. But we’ll also talk about the stuff that keeps you staring at the ceiling at 2 a.m., the tension in your shoulders when you’re around certain people, and how your pet somehow always knows when you’re about to fall apart.
You’ll begin to get clearer on who you really are and what you actually want. That might feel strange at first maybe even a little uncomfortable. But if you’d offer kindness to someone else going through the same thing, you deserve to offer it to yourself too.
You’ll learn how to let people see more of the real you and stop spending so much energy masking, performing, or shrinking to fit in. It feels good to be liked for who you actually are—not for who you think you’re supposed to be.
We’ll work on boundaries. Assertiveness. Self-trust.
And maybe, over time, you’ll start to connect with people who value the real you. People who don’t just tolerate your differences, but actually get it.
I know it’s hard to ask for help especially when you’ve already done so much on your own. You’ve done the groundwork. Now it might be time for new information, a fresh perspective, or support that actually helps you meet your goals. The kind of therapy that doesn’t just revisit the past but helps you make sense of what still feels stuck, so you can move forward with more clarity and ease.
If your inner cat is still deciding whether to come out from under the bed or your tail’s just starting to wag a little, that’s enough.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I show up as a real person, curious, honest, and down-to-earth. I’m not afraid to go deep, but we’ll also laugh, swear, talk about that thing your cat just did, or reference a TV character who somehow captures your whole trauma history in one scene. You won’t have to guess what I’m thinking. I’ll share my observations, ask questions, and help you get clear on what you actually want, not just what you’ve been conditioned to believe you should want. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and unfiltered. You don’t have to organize your thoughts before you talk to me. I’m right there with you in the messiness, helping you follow the thread and make meaning of it all.

I pull from a mix of approaches that help us understand both your past and your present. That includes things like attachment theory (how early relationships shape us), polyvagal theory (how your nervous system responds to stress), narrative therapy (how you make sense of your story), and psychodynamic ideas (what’s under the surface). I also lean on interpersonal neurobiology to help connect the dots between your brain, body, and relationships.
And sometimes, when it fits, I’ll throw in a sprinkle of CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) to help you shift patterns that aren’t working for you anymore.
All of this is filtered through a neurodivergent-affirming lens meaning I’m not here to “fix” you or help you blend in better. I’m here to help you understand yourself more deeply, unlearn what isn’t serving you, and build a life that actually works for your brain and nervous system.

Weekly therapy is usually the most effective, especially early on. It helps us build some momentum and get into the work without having to start over each time. It also gives us space to move through the background stuff and start making real progress, instead of staying stuck in surface-level check-ins.
That said, some folks do better with a little more time between sessions to let things sink in, and every other week can work better for them and that’s totally fine. I only offer monthly sessions for folks who are in a maintenance phase and aren’t actively working through distress or bigger life transitions.

My sessions tend to be pretty unstructured. We usually start with whatever’s on your mind that day and go from there. I’m an active participant in the process—offering reflections, sharing information, and suggesting directions we might explore together.
Some clients come in with a list of things they want to talk through. Others just show up and we figure it out together. People will often mention a video they saw, a book they’re reading, or an article that stuck with them and we explore how it relates to what they’re going through.
If you’re looking for a highly structured approach with homework assignments and worksheets every week, I might not be the right fit. My style is more open and conversational we follow what feels most relevant and meaningful in the moment.

Not at all. Pets are always welcome, but definitely not required. If your cat walks across the screen or your dog curls up beside you, I genuinely consider them part of your support system as they often sense when something’s coming up before we do.
And if you don’t have a pet, that’s totally okay too. As long as you consider yourself a pet person (if you know, you know), there’s a good chance we’ll work well together.

I don’t accept insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill if you’d like to request out-of-network reimbursement. Private pay lets us do meaningful work, including diagnosis if helpful, without session limits, labels, or insurance rules deciding how healing should happen. It also keeps your mental health information off permanent medical records.
